Form and function The BYD SEALION 8 showcases a bold new design direction for BYD, introducing the latest evolution of the ‘Dragon Face’ aesthetics that is designed to be as imposing as it is distinction. At the rear the ‘Bamboo Rhythm’ LED tail lights recall Chinese weaving methods, delicately combining traditional design elements with cutting-edge technology.

DM-POWERFUL
The DM-p all-wheel drive really lets you have it all. With intelligent motor decoupling, the SEALION 8 DM-p can offer fuel consumption as low as 1.0L/100km (NEDC cycle, with sufficient SOC). Switch into sport mode and unlock 359kW/675Nm of grunt and 0-100km/h completed in just 4.9 seconds.

BLADE BATTERY
The SEALION 8 offers BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery, in either 19kWh (DM-i) or 35.6kWh (DM-p) capacities. This new generation battery offers peak discharge of 322 kW, 34% lower energy loss, and 30% faster heat-response rate ensuring consistent performance and reliability in all conditions.

ULTRA COMFORTABLE
The SEALION 8’s front seats are power adjustable heated and ventilated, so you’re ready for summer heat or winter chills. Three-zone climate control with air vents across all three rows is standard across the range.

10-POINT MASSAGE SEATS
The SEALION 8 Premium takes luxury to the next level, with genuine premium leather upholstery and a 10-point massage function for the front seats and two middle-row outboard seats. Those two middle-row seats also score heating and ventilation.

VERSATILITY

BYD DM-i technology is a PHEV system that uses a high-power motor drive and large-capacity BYD Blade battery as its primary source of power, only using the engine for assistance. This means BYD SEALION 6 can drive fully electric and when the SOC is low, the car transforms into an ultra-low fuel consumption hybrid vehicle.

PERFORMANCE POWERHOUSE

BYD SEALION 6 Premium has a 1.5L turbo plug-in hybrid layout offering 238kW of power and 550Nm of torque mated to an AWD powertrain and 0-100km/h of just 5.9s. The BYD SEALION 6 Essential has a 1.5L plug-in hybrid layout offering 160kW of power and 300Nm of torque and FWD powertrain with a 0-100km/h time of 8.5s.
